The Current Situation in Sudan as of August 26
First, the somewhat good news: our school in Karakoulle has remained intact through more than three years of war; one hundred girls and boys are learning to read, write, and do arithmetic there.

First, the somewhat good news: our school in Karakoulle has remained intact through more than three years of war; one hundred girls and boys are learning to read, write, and do arithmetic there.
Commitment to children in Africa. For the entire day, 13 apprentices in Winnenden scrubbed dozens of vehicles.
The situation in Darfur in the west of the country is becoming increasingly catastrophic for the people. After the RSF militias took the town of El Fasher in October after a year and a half under siege, they wreaked havoc on the civilian population.
Sudan is a country in north-east Africa, five times the size of Germany and home to almost 50 million people.
“Providing good news” was the headline of the home visit section in the weekend edition of taz on March 22. This home visit was for Stefan Maier and his guest, Zain Al-Khatir, the hope makers.
Zain donated a few footballs and his sister, who is the teacher at our school, bought them. And for those who didn’t know, Sudanese girls also like to play football.
Our new project. In Karakoulle, 100 girls and boys go to school, they no longer have to walk to the small town of Saraf Oumra, one hour there and one hour back every day.
Please bring more positive news, demand the Weltspiegel viewers again and again. We have some, the editors thought, and dedicated an article to us in the first program on 24 November.
A charity run. The children of Stuttgart’s Kirchhalden School run, the parents and grandparents donate. A certain amount is awarded for each round.
