Content of the program

Our studio guest today is the former Africa correspondent for ARD, Stefan Maier. He worked for many years in war and crisis zones in the Middle East and Africa and also spent some time in the ARD studio in Cairo. It is one of the most important international studios in the world and is responsible for 15 countries, including Egypt, Libya and, of course, Sudan: Egypt, Libya and, of course, Sudan. And it is precisely about a project in civil war-torn Sudan that we are talking about in our studio interview today. It is a school project that Stefan Maier – now retired – launched in spring 2023. And then the civil war began. Sudan has an extremely rich musical culture – we play four songs.
